To program Comstream ABR receivers

Using a male to female straight serial cable (DB 9 male to DB 9 Female), connect a PC with Windows or DOS to the programming port on the ABR

Use a terminal program (like Hyperterminal that comes in Windows) to send the ABR the necessary commands.

The ABR needs this protocol:
data bits: 7
parity: odd
baud rate: 2400
stop bits: 1
Flow control: none

Once you have established communications with the ABR , here is the syntax to program the feed.

Hamilton, Ontario: The 'X' Zone Radio Show is pleased to announce that we are now on a second satellite. Besides being on Galaxy 4R, we are now available on satellite AMC-4 making The 'X' Zone available to millions of listeners in 50 US States, Canada, Mexico, Caribbean, Central America and South America.

Located at 101º W.L, AMERICOM-4 (AMC-4) is SES AMERICOM's fourth A2100 hybrid C-band and Ku-band satellite. Paired with AMC-1 at 103º W, AMC-4's C-band transponders will form Cable 2®, the nation's newest premiere cable neighborhood. The close proximity of the two spacecraft permits both satellites to be received on a single ground antenna. AMC-4's Ku-band transponders will serve the broadcasting, VSAT, business television and broadband Internet market segments.

The 'X' Zone Radio Show can be heard LIVE, Monday - Friday, from 10 p.m. - 2 a.m. Eastern, with the show being repeated in it's entirety fron 2 a.m. - 6 a.m. Eastern.
